Basic ticket

With a basic ticket, you travel comfortably in the Eko class of a train.

Tickets for long-distance traffic

Basic tickets are tickets for long-distance trains, with varying pricing. Tickets are valid for the train trip printed on the ticket.

Discounts on tickets

Students, children (4–16 years), pensioners, conscripts and persons undergoing non-military service get a discount on the basic tickets. Children between 0 and 3 years travel for free without a designated seat.

Tickets from the train

You can buy a basic ticket for long-distance traffic from the conductor. If the train is sold out, a ticket bought on the train does not guarantee you a seat. A charge of a few euros will be added to the ticket price. Tickets cannot be paid by cash.

Right to change to a commuter train

If your journey includes a change to a commuter train in the capital region, the validity period for commuter train travel is 80 minutes. You only need one ticket to travel, for example, to the Helsinki Airport.
